About Media Jamshidi
Media Jamshidi is a surface pattern designer based in Madrid. She paints florals in digital watercolor and builds them into seamless repeats for production. Brands and manufacturers license her patterns and put them on their own products: apparel, home textiles, wallpaper, stationery, tableware and packaging.

How the work is made
Every pattern is painted by hand, petal by petal, in digital watercolor, with custom Procreate watercolor brushes she made herself.
"The tools are digital, but every petal is painted. Nothing is generated."
The painting is only half of the work. Turning painted elements into a true seamless repeat is a craft of its own: every element placed by hand, the tile balanced so the eye finds no grid and no obvious repetition, and all four edges resolved pixel by pixel until the join disappears entirely. A single design is weeks of painting and days of arrangement before the repeat is right.
Each pattern is supplied as a layered file with the individual elements isolated on transparent backgrounds, so a manufacturer can recolor it, rescale it and take it into production without losing a single detail. Tiles are at least 6000 x 6000 pixels, and the most recent designs 8000 x 8000. The exact tile size is listed in each design's specifications.
She has worked as a professional artist for more than a decade. Before specialising in surface pattern design she worked as a graphic designer for print and web and as an illustrator, in vector and in digital painting, including a series of custom stickers for Viber. She also has a background in traditional media: acrylic on canvas, watercolor on paper and pencil.
Licensing
Her work is licensed two ways. Exclusively, scoped to one product category in one territory, so that no other party can use that design in that category and market for the term of the licence. Non-exclusively, from her earlier archive, on simpler terms.
